Brief Bio Roman Zubarev is professor of Medicinal Proteomics at the Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. He has received a B.S. and M.Sc. degree from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, Russia and Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry from the Uppsala University, Sweden. His research is dealing with the development of instruments and methods for mass spectrometry based proteomics and their applications to diverse biomedical problems. Among these are the mechanism, biomarkers and potential preventive treatments of Alzheimer’s disease, the targets and action mechanisms of drugs against cancer cells and pathogenic microorganisms, and the mystery of stem cells. He has also authored and tested the “isotopic resonance” hypothesis, as well as verified cell self-assembly as a possible origin of life on Earth.
